We have been lucky enough that over the last few months we’ve seen several productions at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot (you can read our review of the Christmas production The Nutcracker and The Mouse King here The Nutcracker & The Mouse King). All of them were totally different but equally they were fantastic. It really opened my eyes to children’s theatre and how much my kids loved being whisked away to a fantasy land for an hour or two. I made a promise to them that we would visit the theatre more often. This Easter holiday Cornerstone have made that promise easy for me by hosting a Cornerstone Arts Centre family festival with a jam packed line up of brilliant family shows.
From Wednesday 4th – Sunday 15th April there are shows as well as workshops almost every single day. Check out the line up below:
Wed 4th April: War Of The Worlds martian model making workshop 10am-3:30pm for 8-11 year olds.
Thurs 5th April: Noggin The Nog drama workshop 10am-3:30pm for 5- 8 year olds.
Sat 7th April: From Delhi to Didcot Indian dance classes. 10:30-12pm for 6-12 year olds and 2-4pm for age 13+

Wed 11th April: The Nose That Nobody Picked stage show 2:30pm. Suitable for age 5-11 yrs. Why not book them in to the theatre day where they can spend the morning with the author and learn how to write poems and songs of their own before watching the stage show with the rest of the group?
Thurs 12th April: The War Of The Worlds stage show 7:30pm suitable for age 12 years+
Sat 14th April: Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs 2 : The Magic Cutlass stage show at 2:30pm suitable for age 4 years+. Why not book them in to the full theatre day experience with a drama workshop in the morning acting out swashbuckling adventures, followed by watching the show in the afternoon with the rest of the group?
Sun 15th April: Innocence stage show 12pm and 3pm suitable for age 3 years+. Interactive dance performance show for all the family.
As you can see there’s a huge variety of shows and workshops to choose from. We are excited to be going to watch Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs on Saturday 14th April. It looks like so much fun and the kids cant wait. We hope to see some of you there!
