This year, along with lots of chocolate eggs hidden around the downstairs areas of the house, the Easter Bunny also kindly got the kids a new game. Their Easter basket contained the game Orchard Toys Egg Hunt. It’s aimed at children aged 3-6 years. However, my 10 year old stepdaughter and Mummy and Daddy had fun playing it too!
To play the game you spin the spinner and see what number you land on. You then choose a bunny with the corresponding number of spots and lay it face down in front of you. On the reverse of the bunny card it will have a picture of 1,2 or 3 Easter eggs. Alternatively, it may be blank. Play passes to the next player who does the same. This continues until all the cards have been taken. The winner is the player with the most eggs on the reverse of their cards.
This is a simple, fun game that all ages can enjoy. Even my 4 year old understood it with ease. Be warned though, it does get competitive! The pictures are bright, simple and engaging. As with all Orchard Toys games that we have purchased, it is really good quality. I think it’s bound to last even with regular use. The game has quickly become a firm favourite, especially as I don’t need to be watching over them or helping the youngest one like I do in many other games. They can happily play this without adult supervision.
We purchased this game from Sainsburys where it has an RRP of £5 (we got it on offer for £3.75). If you come across it I highly recommend it, especially for younger members of the family. I’m thinking of keeping it in the car so we can use it when we are out and about. It will also see plenty of use when we go camping, etc. The parts all fit in to a small box and is easy to carry around in a handbag.
