Whats On Weekend 24th-25th March South East

Last weekend turned out to be more like Winter again than Spring despite all the Spring themed events.  There are lots more lovely events this weekend which I hope the weather will be kinder for.  Some of the Easter trails are starting this weekend ahead of the Easter holidays.  Be sure to check them out under the ‘Ongoing Events’ heading below.

Saturday

  • Lambing weekend at the Earth Trust, Little Wittenham 10am-4pm. Meet newborn lambs, piglets and goats. Also bale climbing, tractor trailer rides and children’s activities. £22 for a family ticket on the gate. (£8 adults, £5 child).
  • Make your own beastly mask at the Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre £3 per person plus museum entry fee.
  • Grandads Island stage show at the Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot 11am and 2pm.  Book tickets here: https://www.cornerstone-arts.org/whats/grandads-island
  • Twilight vintage bus tours around Oxford running every 15 minutes from the Oxford Bus Museum

Sunday

  • Family friendly Sundays at the Oxford Natural History Museum 2-4pm.  Family friendly backpacks, crafts and trails around the museum.  FREE  WEEKLY EVENT
  • Inflatable play centre at Didcot Leisure Centre 10am-4pm.  Tickets must be booked in advance via this link https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/view-event/id/153808/chk/e732/ref/event
  • The Snow Beast stage show at Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot 2:30pm.  Tickets bookable here: https://www.cornerstone-arts.org/whats/snow-beast
  • Zootropolis movie will be showing in the planetarium cinema at Winchester Science Centre.  Film starts at 9am.  Tickets cost £5 or £2 plus normal entry if you wish to visit the science centre afterwards.

  • Billy and The Minpins exhibition at the Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre. 7th September 2017- 15th April 2018
  • Vintage Star Wars toys and cinema posters exhibition at the Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery in Basingstoke.  13th January – 14th April 10am-4pm. FREE
  • Children’s Tudor animal trail at The Vyne in Basingstoke.  21st November 2017- 3rd June 2018.  Normal admission fees apply.
  • Barbara Hepworth:Finding Form.  An exhibition of this very talented artist’s sculptures and how they were made as well as a history of her life.  River & Rowing Museum, Henley.  9th February – 3rd June 2018
  • The big Easter Bunny Hunt at Waterperry Gardens.  Find them all and claim a special prize at the end.  £2 per child (adults pay garden entry fee).  24th March-15th April 2018
  • Stonor Park Easter Egg trail.  Follow the clues to win a prize then enjoy playing in the Wonder Woods.  24th March – 15th April 2018
  • Marvellous machines exhibition at Banbury Museum including quirky gadgets and contraptions.   24th March – 9th June 2018
